Description:
This ancient ketubah was brought to me by the couple as a plaint ketubah painting but without the wording.
The bride’s grandfather kept this plain ketubah for his granddaughter for at least 50 years or more. The artist is unknown.
I was asked to fill in the two columns with ketubah text calligraphy in Hebrew and English and do the oval wording. I have also added the initials (AA) in the middle of the oval along with “I have found the one in whom my soul delights” in Hebrew and “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” in English.
This ketubah in my opinion was inspired by the old famous Lisbon Bible as described in the link as follows:
